THE ETERNAL STRUGGLE AGAINST TYRANNY GOES ON
For me the Cross on Good Friday stands for three great ideals – Freedom, Truth and Courage.
The eternal battle between freedom and tyranny, truth and lies, compassion and cruelty, right and wrong.
Christ’s life was one long struggle against tyranny, corruption and lies.
He was scourged, spat upon, mocked and crucified.
Many today, have lost jobs, homes, businesses, friends and much, much more.
They too are standing bravely against the forces of tyranny and fear in the world.
They too have been mocked, abandoned and silenced.
Their sufferings, like Christ’s, are remembered today.
There is no gain without loss.
They broke his body but not his spirit.
They won’t break ours either.
